Today I decided to disable the beep on my camera, right after this shot. This deer, about 30 yards away at the time, is actually looking toward the sound of my auto-focus beep. There are 3 more deer outside of the frame and they all took off after they heard the camera's shutter actuate. I can't make that any quieter but, at least by silencing the beep, I will be a little more quiet. Although it did seem to get this deer to say, "cheese!"
I was at the local zoo yesterday and was walking by a large cage that contained some sort of rare bird. Since it was so cold out, the birds in the exhibit were all huddled near the back of the large, fenced cage where they had some heat lamps to keep them warm. The little bird in the photo, however, was front-and-center taking in the passers by.
I guess one bird's cage is another bird's perch.
Some trees contain spirits, or demons, that express themselves in the shape that the tree adopts over time. The more dramatic the shape change, the more tormented the spirit.
The tree in this photo houses the spirit of an ancient wolf named Lykos. In the snow, near this tree, I have observed the tracks of a creature that leaves the footprints of a dog, but walks on only two legs. Nearby residents say that it's not uncommon to hear the mournful howling of Lykos on cold, windy winter nights especially when there is a clear view of a full, yellow moon. These are good nights to remain indoors.
A lone goose is master of all he surveys at his small pond.
There was just a touch of color left on a tree in the cemetery. Kind of gives the background a Christmas ornamental feel.

Can't figure out if this duck wasn't wearing his crash helmet the last time he had a bad landing or if this is some sort of trendy new hair style.

The horses HAVE to run or face being eaten! I bet Stephen King would enjoy a ride on this...

God knows how to pick some good colors and textures to put together...
I just liked the fire-like colors of this autumn leaf shot.
